Why Everyone Is Booking a Balcony Cruise Right Now (and How to Lock In 70% Off Your Second Sailor)
Caribbean cruise pricing is creating a strong opening for travelers who want more space without paying full premium-cabin rates.
More ships are sailing the region. Cruise lines are adding inventory. Promotional fares are becoming more competitive, especially outside major holiday periods. That combination is helping travelers find better discounted cruise deals for 2026.
Right now, Infinite Travel is featuring a Virgin Voyages promotion with:
- 70% off the second sailor
- A free balcony upgrade
- Promotion dates of 08/01/26 through 10/28/26
- Access to select eligible sailings and cabin categories
- Personalized booking help from Josh Anders
If you are considering a Caribbean getaway for two, this is a practical time to compare balcony options.
Why Caribbean Cruise Fares Are Becoming More Competitive
Cruise pricing changes based on demand, ship capacity, cabin availability, sailing dates, and itinerary.
For 2026, more cruise ships are scheduled across the Caribbean. Major cruise lines are promoting larger seasonal programs from ports such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Galveston, and San Juan.
More capacity does not guarantee that every sailing will become cheaper. However, it can create more choices and more price pressure. Cruise lines may offer:
- Second-sailor discounts
- Instant savings
- Onboard credit
- Free or reduced upgrades
- Lower fares on shoulder-season departures
- Cabin promotions for select inventory
You can compare broader Caribbean cruise options through Princess Caribbean itineraries and Celebrity’s 2026–2027 Caribbean program.
The key is to compare the full value of the booking. A lower interior fare may look attractive at first. A balcony fare may deliver more useful space for only a moderate increase, especially when a promotion removes the usual upgrade cost.
A Balcony Can Be the Best Cabin Upgrade
A balcony cabin gives you private outdoor space attached to your room. On Virgin Voyages, these rooms are generally called Sea Terraces.
Use the balcony for:
- Morning coffee
- Quiet time between activities
- Open-air views during scenic sailing
- Sunset photos
- Room service or casual meals
- A private place to relax on sea days
A balcony also changes the experience of the cabin itself. An interior room gives you a place to sleep and get ready. A balcony adds a second setting where you can sit, read, check the view, or watch the ship approach a port.
Virgin Voyages’ Sea Terrace cabins may include features such as:
- Private outdoor terrace
- Seating
- Ocean views
- Signature hammock on most cabins
- Rainshower bathroom
- Adjustable mood lighting
Review the official Virgin Voyages cabin information before choosing a category. Balcony size and view can vary. A Limited View Sea Terrace may have an obstruction, while a Slightly Smaller Balcony category may offer less outdoor space.
That is where a free upgrade can make a meaningful difference.
The Current Infinite Travel Virgin Voyages Promotion
The current Infinite Travel special is listed for 08/01/26 through 10/28/26.
The offer includes:
70% Off the Second Sailor
The promotion is designed for travelers booking together in eligible cabins. It can reduce the base fare for the second sailor and lower the total cost of a couples’ cruise.
Promotional calculations, eligible cabin categories, taxes, fees, and add-ons may vary. The discount generally applies to qualifying base voyage fares. Taxes, port fees, optional packages, and other charges may be separate.
Ask Josh Anders to review the full price before you book.
Free Balcony Upgrade
The offer can provide a balcony upgrade on eligible Virgin Voyages sailings. Depending on availability and the cabin category, the upgrade may apply to a qualifying Sea Terrace option.
A free upgrade can be especially valuable when the difference between a sea-view cabin and a balcony would otherwise add several hundred dollars to the total fare.
Additional Virgin Voyages Value
The Infinite Travel special also highlights Virgin Voyages inclusions such as:
- More than 20 eateries
- Wi-Fi
- Fitness classes
- Entertainment
- Access to shipboard activities
Inclusions can vary by fare and booking terms. Confirm what is included in your specific quote.

How to Get More Value From Discounted Cruise Deals
Use a simple comparison process before selecting a sailing.
1. Compare the Total Price
Do not compare only the advertised fare. Request the complete price for both travelers.
Check:
- Base cruise fare
- Taxes and port fees
- Gratuities
- Flights
- Hotel nights
- Transfers
- Travel protection
- Excursions
- Optional beverage or dining purchases
A discounted fare may still have different costs depending on the itinerary and cabin.
2. Compare the Cabin Difference
Ask for pricing in at least two categories:
- Interior or Insider
- Sea View
- Sea Terrace balcony
Then compare the price difference per person and per night.
If the balcony premium is modest, the private outdoor space may be the better use of your travel budget. If the difference is high, an ocean-view cabin may provide a better fit.
3. Check Alternative Dates
Prices may change significantly by departure date.
Request options for:
- September and October
- Early winter
- Non-holiday weeks
- Shorter itineraries
- Different departure ports
- Eastern and Western Caribbean routes
Flexibility can help you find stronger discounted cruise deals without giving up the balcony.
4. Confirm Promotion Eligibility
Promotions may be limited by:
- Booking date
- Sailing date
- Ship
- Cabin category
- Fare type
- Availability
- Number of travelers
- New-booking requirements
Do not assume a promotion applies to every Virgin Voyages itinerary. Confirm the exact sailing before making a deposit.
